DUAL USE SLIDING CANOPY BODY
Canopy can be removed by sliding back on to a mobile frame allowing the canopy to be stored safely until next required. The body can then be used as a standard steel carrier body with the over cab gantry and rear support for extra long lengths. Catwalk behind the cab to allow the securing of the loads without compromising the safety of the driver. Removable side loading posts and fall arrest system. Multi positional floor bolsters with dividers for load segregation.
DAF CF260 4X2 Canopy Body
Sliding canopy body fabricated & fitted including galvanised side posts complete with fall arrest straps. Tool locker fitted for additional storage. Addition of bespoke rear cap with customers detailing, Finished with the full truck in our customers livery.
Man Canopy Body
We converted this from a TGX 6×2 Tractor Unit to a TGX 26.440 6×2-2 BL with is a solo-rigid specification with the mid-axle repositioned as a tag axle.
The wheelbase was extended to 5900mm with a rear bogie spread of 1350mm.
The front axle was uprated to 8000 Kgs with the drive axle being 11500 Kgs and the tag axle 7100 Kgs which allowed the vehicle to be re-plated to 26000 Kgs GVW.
A data file was downloaded by ourselves to reconfigure the new vehicle parameters.
Body Building
We then built the sliding canopy body on the chassis which allows for the carrying of any type of load. The canopy can be quickly removed to a storage frame which allows the vehicle to be operated as a standard platform body.
Painting & Finishing
Britcom’s Repair & Paintshop did the final preparation of the vehicle. The cab was prepared and painted in PPG 2k Vauxhall Halo Silver basecoat followed by PPG 2 pack lacquer. The chassis was shotblasted to remove all corrosion and imperfections, then painted in PPG 2 pack epoxy primer followed by PPG 2 pack RAL5022 blue. The wheels were shotblasted and painted in PPG 2 pack epoxy primer followed by PPG 2 pack RAL9006 silver.
IVECO Canopy Body
This sliding canopy body is ideal for the transportation of steel & coiled products.
The features of this body include:
– Easy one-man operation allowing the canopy to be retracted forwards or backwards for loading/unloading
– Internal drip sheet to prevent moisture from dripping on the load
More Features
– Coil wells with heavy duty easy removable floor sections
– Removable side posts for added load security with a wear strip bonded to the inside of the canopy to prevent damage
– Lashing rings mounted to each crossmember end
– Rear canopy sheet can be raised from ground level
– Rear access platform with retractable access ladder and grab handles ensures safety of operatives when entering the body
